Inside Volume 1

A small molecule.
A much bigger story.

Part personal history, part exploration of the research. Follow Bob’s journey from a question about an aging dog to Creatine 1500—and the questions he’s still asking today.

01 /

The dog that changed everything.

Meet Beanhead, the aging dog whose story helped set Bob’s search in motion. A personal observation that became a reason to keep investigating.

02 /

Before the bandwagon.

Go back to Unipro and Creatine 1500 in 1985. See an original study guide and follow the path from forgotten research to an athlete-facing product.

03 /

What happens after the set?

Explore nitrogen balance, energy buffering, and recovery—and why an interesting mechanism and a demonstrated result are different things.

04 /

From ATP to gene expression.

Look at creatine transport, differences in response, and research on cell signaling. Understand the questions beyond simply taking another scoop.

Meet the author

“I kept
the receipts.”

In 1985, I helped bring Creatine 1500 to athletes at Unipro. My years working at NASA and my search through historical research helped shape a question that stayed with me: how can nutrition support muscle and performance?

This is my account of that journey—the experiments, the products, and the ideas that sent me back to the research.

“I didn’t invent creatine. Nature did.”
